The Chimes, Potts Point redevelopment proposal is getting seriously pricey, with the aspiring developers of the dated Potts Point apartment block site showing their hand at a midweek ­deceased estate auction.

Tim Price’s Time & Place was forced to pay $735,000 for a 38sqm seventh floor studio auctioned by Laing Real Estate’s Vicki Laing.

Not even a lengthy lift breakdown during the marketing period deterred competitive interest from four bidders.
